Mr. Deepak Naik  IIB.Sc (BZC) , Vishwas  II B.Sc (BZC) and Kiran M.P II B.Sc (BZC)  have completed minor research work on  “Study of Fascinating life cycle of butterflies in the forests of Putturtaluk  D.K under the guidance of  Prof. Deviprasad K.N. during 2010-11 and they presented their work in the international conference held at Thiruvananthapuram organized by Department of Environmental Sciences , University of Kerala on 9th December 2011.

SPICE Project

VijayaM.H  of  I B.Sc (BZC) and Shivaranjini& Anjali N.S  of II BSC (BZC)   working under the guidance of Sri. SrikrishnaGanarajaBhat , HOD of Botany have been awarded  SPICE project worth Rs. 30,000 each by Vision group on Science & Technology , GOvt. of Karnataka.

Participation in INSPIRE programme

Kum.ShreyaKolathayachaithra U.N , Thejaswini and Srivalli of II B.Sc  have Participated in “VIJYOSHI” camp III organized by  KVPY-“Kishore VaigyanikProtsahanYojana”  under INSPIRE programmeheld from 26th November, 2011 to 28 November 2011 at Indian Institute of Science , Bangalore.

• Pavana Ganga 3rd and Parvathy Venu 7th figure in the Rank List. (B.Sc-2010 April/May examinations) in the Tentative Rank List circulated by the University. Congratulations to these meritorious students of the college.


• Manjunath N studying in III B.A – ‘B’ Grade AIR artist was awarded the District ‘Rajyaothsava Award’ for this year.


• Pavithra K won a reward & recognition by being selected by Kanada Magazine, Bangalore.

• Vivekananda College has Permanent Affiliation from Mangalore University for most of the Degree Courses.
• The College was assured by the NAAC in 2004 and was accredited at B++.
• Our College has been recognized under the category of 2(f) and 12 (B) and is eligible for many of the U.G.C. grants.
• The College has generally been in the forefront of all academic and administrative changes suggested by the Dept. of Hr. Edn, the U.G.C and Mangalore University . It has been considered Nodal Centre for many of the activities by a few agencies/Depts.
• More than half a dozen faculty Members have been recognized as Research Guides(some by several Universities) and are presently involved in Research activities and consultancy, while equal number of faculties is pursuing their  Ph.D studies.
